Meet Matt Prehn. Matt has been in the banking industry for over 17 years. His experience began in Sioux falls and spanned roles such as Personal Banker, Business Banking Associate, and Community Lending Team Lead to name a few. For the last seven years Matt has led a team of sales reps as the VP of Sales.

Matt’s diverse experience in both sales and banking makes him an excellent fit to lead our Aberdeen branch. His areas of expertise include Commercial and Ag lending, retail banking, and cash management serves, well equipping him to be able to serve all parts of our customer base. He values community banking and its emphasis on being involved in local organizations. “Community banks are the backbone of towns of all sizes and it’s great to be a part of that. Providing customers with financial resources to succeed is a rewarding part of my role and the industry.”

Matt has previously been on numerous boards including United Way of NE South Dakota, Aberdeen YMCA, Aberdeen Parks and Recreation, the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce. Currently, he serves as Clerk of the Prairiewood Township and as Treasurer for the Brown County Association of Towns & Townships.

When not at the bank, Matt enjoys golfing – he would describe his game as “high handicapped” – and also likes to travel. He and his wife Heidi have five children and a German Shepherd named Molly.
